Zy'anna King Named First Team Elite All-American

Nation's Interception Leader Earns Elite All-American First Team Recognition After Historic Sophomore Season

Elite All-American First Team Selection

Elite All-American recognizes only eighteen First Team selections nationwide following a comprehensive evaluation of the country's premier high school girls flag football players.

Selection is based upon production, football IQ, athleticism, performance against top competition, leadership, versatility, and long-term projection.

Being named a First Team Elite All-American represents one of the sport's highest honors.

Some athletes dominate one side of the football.

Zy'anna King dominated every phase of the game.

Following one of the most remarkable sophomore seasons in the country, King earned First Team Elite All-American honors as one of the nation's premier safeties.

Her combination of elite defensive production, explosive offensive playmaking, and game-changing special teams ability made her one of the easiest selections in the inaugural Elite All-American class.

Why Elite All-American Selected Her

The first thing evaluators noticed was her ability to take the football away.

The second thing they noticed was everything else.

King earned First Team recognition because she consistently impacted games as a receiver, defensive back, and return specialist while producing one of the most statistically dominant seasons in girls flag football.

Her instincts, range, competitiveness, and football intelligence consistently changed the outcome of games.

Simply put, few players anywhere in the country affected winning the way Zy'anna King did.

Historic Defensive Season

King produced one of the greatest defensive seasons in recent girls high school flag football history.

2025 Season

  • 41 interceptions
  • National leader
  • No. 1 in Florida
  • No. 1 in Florida Class 1A

Forty-one interceptions is an extraordinary accomplishment.

It reflects elite anticipation, outstanding range, exceptional football IQ, and a rare ability to consistently find the football.

Quarterbacks who challenged King often paid the price.

Every turnover gave Boca Ciega additional opportunities while taking possessions away from opposing offenses.

More Than a Defensive Star

While her interceptions earned national headlines, King's offensive production was equally impressive.

Offensive Production

  • 60 receptions
  • 1,250 receiving yards
  • 16 receiving touchdowns
  • 20.8 yards per reception

On special teams, she also ranked among the nation's best.

Special Teams

  • 36.92 yards per punt return
  • No. 2 nationally
  • No. 2 in Florida

Her ability to score in every phase of the game made her one of the country's most complete flag football athletes.

Championship Performer

King saved some of her best football for the biggest stage.

During Boca Ciega's run to the FHSAA State Championship, she continued making explosive plays against elite competition.

In the state tournament victory over Lakewood, she recorded:

  • 3 receptions
  • 85 receiving yards
  • 28.3 yards per catch

She also played a major role during Boca Ciega's district championship run, continuing to demonstrate why she had become one of Florida's premier playmakers.

Great players elevate their game when championships are on the line.

King consistently did exactly that.
